The great thing about new Dodge vehicles is that they can inspire so many different creations in the aftermarket; from owners that have a love of muscle cars to other brands that want to show the world their own take on the model. Of that latter category, Hennessey sits in the pole position, and they recently revealed a new high-octane car that you'd also find in our Fayetteville showroom.

It's the Dodge Challenger, and Hennessey added a few enhancements to increase its performance. With a supercharger, the vehicle achieves 650 horsepower using a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8, while other upgrades like stainless steel headers and cylinder heads, plus fuel injectors help make this vehicle possible.

Hennessey used the SRT8 edition as their baseline, and guess what? Dodge is actually working on a model that's going to crank out similar power numbers. Maybe you've heard about it before, but we have yet to talk about it on our blog. It's called the 'Hellcat,' and has been caught out testing, with the expectation that it will arrive sometime next year. Also, with a code name like that, it must be good.

While we wait for the Hellcat's arrival, we can enjoy Hennessey's edition, particularly with this video, where we get to see the engine being tested out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypSOgNc0M4o#t=20. Ahh, that sound!
