Performance
Under the hood, the 2022 Compass comes with a spirited four-cylinder engine. The engine can be paired with either a six-speed or nine-speed automatic transmission. Drivers who opt for the AWD will benefit from several terrain-conquering drive modes. Thanks to the automatic feature that lets the vehicle distribute torque to the wheels as it dims fit, you will have improved traction while driving on snow, sand, and mud. The Trailhawk trim includes rock and low crawler mode to keep the vehicle in the first gear and distribute torque to the wheels that can get a grip. In general, this vehicle feels capable, solidly planted, and well-controlled on the road.

Trim Highlights
Jeep produces the new Compass in five trims: The Sport, Latitude, Latitude Lux, Limited, and the Trailhawk. All models feature a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 177 hp and 172 lb-ft 0f torque. FWD is standard on the Sport and Latitude trims, but you have an option to have them equipped with an AWD. The Latitude Lux, Limited, and Trailhawk come standard with an AWD. The FWD models are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while AWD models get a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The base trim comes with LED headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, rear air vents, roof rails, cloth upholstery, height-adjustable driver's seat, adjustable load floor, first-and-second-row USB ports, satellite radio, and a six-speaker sound system.
The mid-trims include a few comforts, such as a leather shift knob, premium cloth/vinyl leather, 17-inch alloy wheels, ambient interior lighting, and automatic headlamps. Some optional features that you can add to the Latitude trim include dual-zone automatic climate control, more safety features, wireless charging, heated front seats, and a dual-pane sunroof.
The Latitude trim offers more tech and comfort with standard AWD, 18-inch wheels, heated front seats, remote start, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a lot more. In this model, the 10.1-inch infotainment system comes as standard.
For the best off-roading action, choose the Trailhawk trim. It flaunts an exceptional rugged styling package containing an excellent ground clearance and functional touches like skid plates.
