As of this writing, there are Jeep Grand Cherokee L models for Laredo, Limited, Overland, and Summit. Despite its impressive size inside and out, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee zips from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. How? It's all in the family of powerhouse engines and transmissions choices:
- Supercharged HEMI 6.2-liter V8 engine
- Supercharged 6.4-liter V8 engine
Paired with 4x4 capability and a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission, the Jeep Grand Cherokee tows up to 7,200 pounds. That's best-in-class, by the way. The Selec-Terrain Traction Management system lets you select drive modes that tweak engine and wheel torque for enhanced traction on diverse terrain or during various weather conditions around town.
An additional feature, the Rear Electronic Limited-Slip Differential, allows rear wheels to rotate at different speeds up to a certain degree. The effect is more flexible rear-wheel torque for safer maneuvering, cornering, and augmented tire grip. On top of everything, the Jeep Grand Cherokee lives up to its EPA fuel economy rating of 25 mpg city/highway.
